Egypt and Jordan — The Nile, the Pyramids, Petra, and the Red Sea
Start in Cairo for the pyramids, then fly south to Aswan to begin a Nile cruise heading north toward Luxor. The temples grow more elaborate and better preserved as you go — start simple, build to the spectacular. Take a longer cruise if you can; the rhythm of life on the river is half the experience. A detour to Abu Simbel is an experience. We finished on the Red Sea in Sharm el Sheikh — the snorkel clarity rivals anywhere in the world. From there, a short hop to Jordan to experience Petra and finish with a float in the Dead Sea.
